In ages past, a land so vast, with rolling hills and plains so vast, a land that teemed with life and song,
A land that once belonged.

A land of forests, lakes and streams, of endless beauty and endless dreams, a land of plenty, a land of grace, a land of a noble race.

But then they came, with sword and flame, and all was lost, a tragic shame, the land was taken, the people slain, their way of life forever changed.

The nations of old, so proud and strong, were beaten down, their hearts so long, forced to leave their sacred land, their homes and hopes forever banned.

The cries of sorrow, the tears of pain, echo through the ages, again and again, for all that was, and could have been, was taken by force, by greed and sin.

The America that was, is lost forever, but memories live on, we must endeavor, to honor those who came before, and to seek forgiveness, evermore.

For only then, can we truly say, we honor the land, we walk today, and hope to build a brighter future,
for all people, for all cultures.
