The Little Girl In You

Deep inside of you, a little girl resides, full of wonder, imagination, and joy that abides, she giggles and sings with carefree delight, and sees the world through a lens so bright.

But life has a way of dimming that light, as you grew older and faced the world’s might, responsibilities and worries weighed you down, and that little girl’s voice becomes a quiet sound.

But I see her, that little girl in you, and I love her so much, it’s easy to see, I encourage her to come out and play, to break free from the worries of the day.

She reminds me of the magic in the world, and that it’s okay to let your inner child unfurl, to dance with me late at night and laugh at my silly jokes, and to cherish our simple moments like brush strokes.

So I thank you, dear lover, for letting me enjoy that part of you, of her pure and innocent at heart,
and for letting me try and break her free. I will always miss that little girl and remember her with glee.
